Flatiron Office II
The second office interior project in the Flatiron district of New York City continued with a similar open office aesthetic as the first. On this floor of the same building, six bays of six work desks each are arranged perpendicular to the office perimeter creating team areas for seating. An extensive, open kitchen was created as well as three conference room of various sizes and layouts. Large, custom designed, communal work and cafeteria bar height tables are a feature of the open kitchen area.
The existing raw concrete floors were polished and the ceilings were painted and left exposed similar to the first office. Large glass doors and panels from the previous fit-out were salvaged and re-used and the existing suspended lighting was also reconfigured for the new layout. White was selected for all of the walls as well as most of the furniture. The conference rooms feature walls of magnetic, dry erase wallpaper which facilitate drawing presentations. The custom, built-in plywood desks were bleached to compliment the color scheme. All furniture was specified and procured by maa designs and all of the furniture from the first office was reused.
