West Village Coop

Stunning views down Sixth Avenue in New York City are a key feature of this two bedroom coop apartment in a modern white-brick building built in the 1950s.  The views are a fitting backdrop to the "minimal yet warm" aesthetic sought by the client couple and their young son.  The original formal apartment layout was reconfigured to allow for open living, dining and kitchen living.

Wide plank, natural white oak floors replaced the original wood parquet flooring throughout.  The all white kitchen is detailed with warm white pine lower cabinets and frosted back painted glass upper cabinets.  Built-in cabinetry units hide heating/air-conditioning systems and also provide storage in the living room, banquette seating in the dining area and desks in both bedrooms.  Two full bathrooms feature floor to ceiling stone and tile finishes as well as all new fixtures and accessories.  The powder room features a pillow tile wainscot and custom decorative plaster wallpaper above.
