Flatiron Penthouse Loft
This stunning, light filled, 2500 square foot, full floor loft in a former manufacturing building in the Flatiron District of New York City was in desperate need of renovation. maa designs used a simple palette of colors and materials to enhance the three bedroom, three bathroom apartment's modern, industrial look. The original windows and exposed pipe work contribute to the authentic loft aesthetic though rich materials and color accents make the spaces warm and appealing.
The project was completed within a tight budget and time frame though upgrades include a new zoned central heating and air conditioning system, new plumbing pipework as well as an upgrade to the electrical service. A new bathroom and laundry room were created, the existing kitchen and bathrooms were gutted and rebuilt. The exisitng original floors were simply sanded and bleached and pipework was left exposed.
The next phase of the project will entail a private roof deck as well as new flooring and another layer of finish detailing.
