Bell Street Cottage
After decades of neglect, this one hundred year old cottage, located in a small Long Island village, required a gut renovation. maa designs was able to preserve the historic details to create a modern yet traditional aesthetic for a 1900 square foot vacation home.
The ground floor features three sets of French doors which open up the kitchen and dining rooms to a stunning ipe porch and blue stone patio with swimming pool beyond. The property is enhanced by a barn structure as well as an original outhouse no longer in use. A perimeter of cypress trees was planted to ensure privacy and maa designs also played a critical role in all aspects of the landscape design.
The main level includes the open living space with kitchen and dining area as well as a separate family room, bathroom and laundry room. Though compact, the second level includes four bedrooms and two bathrooms, one en-suite with the master bedroom. The master bedroom also features an open cathedral ceiling with an added loft area used as an office.
